Bitter Springs trail was one of the most costly trips for me! Let me explain, a friend of mine from AZ brought a drone out on our day trip. At first, I thought it was kinda stupid; but seeing the footage and how cool the drone was, well, I was hooked! So, I ended up buying a drone and that is why Bitter Springs was the most costly trip for me so far.  A drone is a ton of fun for me and the footage is epic, well worth the money if you can get one.

This trail was great, we saw wild horses for the first time in years! We were also able to connect two locations (we have been at both ends of the trail- just never ALL the ways through the trail).

The trail goes from Valley of Fire to Lake Mead.

So now on to the trail/trip. We did it in a stock Lexus 460 (ok, there is a tent on top, but no other modifications YET) and it wasn't too bad for the most part. There was one section we had to back up and find another way around (like 50 feet back up) due to a large rock in the wash.

There are a few GREAT-looking campgrounds, but not when the weather is nuclear hot. When the weather is a bit nicer (Vegas winter) we plan to go back out there and camp. Very few people (we didn't see any) - great views - great dispersed camping - good enough road for most stock 4x4 - how can you go wrong?

I finally got to use the active track on the DJI OM4 and it works great.

TIPS:

*I would go in from the Lake Mead side - it seems like a nicer drive.
*Travel when the weather is cooler - if you want to go slower and camp.
*Buy food, water, gas at the little Casino near the highway.
* Look for wild animals in the morning. The horses we saw were looking for water in the late afternoon.
