I will make posts about most of the upgrades and why I selected them, but for a quick overview of the bulk of the upgrades, this is the place.
There is also another list of Camping / Overlanding upgrades or gear.
In my mind, it is also important to remember the goal of the build and the environment it will run in. In the past, I have designed out supercomputer for data processing and the key issue is to really understand and process - the data a few times to see where the bottlenecks are; well the same is true in building an Overlanding truck:
✅How big rocks are you going to go over?
✅How much washboard - shit road are you going to travel
✅How much power do you need?
✅Do you need something that works well in rain and snow - or 130 degrees?
Nevada - is 80%+ BLM land - you can throw a rock and 8 out of 10 times you will hit BLM land - Camping landing. I don't plan on doing a lot of LARGE rock climbing, but sand, fine sand, dirt, loose rock, quick set up and quick breakdown are important for. What's important on your build?

The MTS / Crawl control is one of the best upgrades - and one of the first things I did. The parts that I ordered were here in a few weeks and it took me a few hours to install.

So happy I got these removed - not more than a week or two after getting them removed - I got a flat. I do have the key for the rims, but it makes working in 120 degrees much easier just to use one tool for all the lug nuts - Thank you, Lexus of Henderson, for removing those

Front Runner - they have expensive stuff, and I had my doubts because I am going to use it to hold a tent - and not much else. I am sure I could have gotten a cheaper rack - but I LOVE FronerRunner racks - they have a ton of accessories and a lifetime warranty
CVT Tent ~ 3000
We did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people and went inside a lot of tents, and what we are looking for is different than most people. We wanted:
a.) quick and easy setup
b.) quick and easy pack up
c.) room for Ric (6'3 ~ 280lbs)
d.) nice bed'ish - something that is just not shit foam.
So the CVT St. Helens fit that those requirements. We looked at getting a cheap Chinese knock-off tent. Which would have been about a 1,000 less, however, the CVT shop is here in Vegas and they have a GREAT reputation for taking care of their customer.
I wish I could blend some of their other hardshell tents and make a totally cool CVT tent - hey CVT - if your listening - hit me up - I can help you design a hardshell tent - that would-be killer.
Grom VL2 Audio / Nav System ~700
The Lexus / Toyota info system suck, which I don't have a problem with. So Toyota works under the idea - if it is not broken don't fix it - maybe improve on it - but don't make it worst. I wanted a lot more from the Nav System - Computer System - so I bought a Grom Vl2 and installed it myself. Now I have waze - gaia GPS- google earth and much more.
